The Atsana Wihan Sacred Heart Cathedral ((Thai: อาสนวิหารพระหฤทัย) has been inaugurated on October 1999 and is the principal church of the diocese of Chiang Mai. This is the third cathedral of the Diocese, the first one was built in 1931 and the second one was inaugurated on February 28, 1965. The college and the kindergarten school were added in 1932.
The school has more than 4,000 students. There is a new English program available, with currently about 100 registered students. Each class is around 16 students and has two teachers: a native Thai speaking subject teacher and a native English speaking subject teacher.
The prices of the school are controlled by the government, which makes it an affordable private school compared to the other international private schools in the area.
